BlackBerry PlayBook takes RIM to the next level

Canadian-based technology company Research in Motion had high hopes for the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet when they released it in 2011. And the product has not been a disappointment.

The BlackBerry PlayBook is extremely popular in business circles because of its versatility and its applications for business customers. This is clientele has always been important to RIM starting with the basic BlackBerry cellular phone.

But with the BlackBerry PlayBook, RIM is focusing equally on the general user rather than just the business customer. With this tablet device, users were able to watch high-quality video, play advanced video games, check email, and generally surf the Internet.

Initially the BlackBerry PlayBook was not shipped with native applications for software for email and calendars, but this was later remedied. RIM also made their tablet compatible with Android- and Java-based applications.

One way that the BlackBerry PlayBook is ahead of other tablets is with its advanced security measures. In fact, the Australian government approved the device as meeting their security standards. No other tablet was similarly recognized.

This year saw the release of the BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0

Many elements of the original BlackBerry PlayBook were upgraded with the 2012 release of the OS 2.0. Among these were the native applications mentioned above.

One of the most attractive aspects of the BlackBerry PlayBook is that it meets the highest encryption standards. In fact, it meets the same standard as the BlackBerry phone does. This is one feature that gained RIM a great deal of respect from business users who were concerned about security.

In fact, President Barack Obama stated prior to his 2008 election that he never went anywhere without his BlackBerry. Its security features were a big part of that.

3D graphics are just one of the features of the BlackBerry PlayBook

The BlackBerry PlayBook has a number of attractive features that makes it desirable among those who love high-quality images and graphics. Its 3D graphics are as good as any tablet on the market.

It also features a 7-inch display and a camera for video chatting. It supports high-resolution video playback and high quality audio as well.

The BlackBerry PlayBook is also lighter than any of the competing tablets, including the Apple iPad. This makes it very attractive for those who want a tablet to be convenient to carry around and convenient to use wherever you are.
