BlackBerry PlayBook takes RIM to the next level

Canadian-based technology company Research in Motion had high hopes for the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet when they released it in 2011. And the product has not been a disappointment.

The BlackBerry PlayBook is extremely popular in business circles because of its versatility and its applications for business customers. This is clientele has always been important to RIM starting with the basic BlackBerry cellular phone.

But with the BlackBerry PlayBook, RIM is focusing equally on the general user rather than just the business customer. With this tablet device, users were able to watch high-quality video, play advanced video games, check email, and generally surf the Internet.

Many elements of the original BlackBerry PlayBook were upgraded with the 2012 release of the OS 2.0. Among these were the native applications mentioned above.

One of the most attractive aspects of the BlackBerry PlayBook is that it meets the highest encryption standards. In fact, it meets the same standard as the BlackBerry phone does. This is one feature that gained RIM a great deal of respect from business users who were concerned about security.

In fact, President Barack Obama stated prior to his 2008 election that he never went anywhere without his BlackBerry. Its security features were a big part of that.
